Hey everyone:
Amy landed in Jacksonville, NC today. Finally...she made it home. She will be living with another girl who is 5 months pregnant and Amy went to boot camp with her. Also, her husband is serving in Iraq so it is a good match. Hopefully, she will be with us this weekend or next here in Florida. We have Neal's car and she is going to need it.
Neal continues to ask for your prayers. The base was mortared the other day and one was close to him at 100 meters. Two guys from the 24 MEU were killed yesterday outside the wire...so things are heating up. Pray for their safety. He can't talk about any of what he is doing but we know it is serious...especially if we ask questions and he is silent...we know he can't answer.
They both send their love and thanks for the packages and have needed everything you have sent. If you are needing ideas - here are some new ones that I got from Thao and some from Neal and his buddies there.
leather NBA basketball with a pump
gatorade packages to add to your water in water bottle
insoles for boots and shoes - Neal is a size 10 1/2 to 11
aqua coolers - (you wet them and wrap around your neck - crystals inside kerchief keep them cool)
Cards and letters - Neal says he wants more of these so when mail call happens, he gets them but again...he loves the packages too. Oh...and he said send pictures - he told me to tell this to Ryan and Megan especially!
Bug Spray or cooling spray
Pop up Hampers
Plastic gallon zip locks to store stuff so the dust and critters don't get it.
Lysol stick ups
I hope these ideas help. Thanks for sending the kids mail and stuff...again, it means so much to them and they love getting something at mail call.
Mark and I are doing fine settling into the house. We have a lot to learn about Florida and we love the weather.
